CAN Child Abuse Network

On Friday I am going to meet with the coordinator for my non-profit organization media kit final project-that was a mouth full!   This project was given to me in my persuasive writing class.  I am extremely excited to be working with a wonderful organization that helps abused kids talk about what happened in a comfortable environment.  This will also be a challenge for me.  It is hard for me and I’m sure the rest of the normal world to think of a child in bad situation let alone an abusive one.  I admire this organization for making this a safe place for kids.  If you would like to learn more about this organization please visit them at www.childabusenetwork.org/

pro·cras·ti·na·tion

pro·cras·ti·na·tion
[proh-kras-tuh-ney-shuhn, pruh
]
noun: the act or habit of procrastinating, or putting off or delaying, especially something requiring immediate attention.
Please use in a sentence: She was smart, but her constant procrastination led her to be late with almost every assignment. (Out of all the definitions that are on the web for procrastination, I thought this one was most appropriate.)

I was trying to come up with things on stuff to say this week and nothing came up.  I feel like my mind is on so many different projects that my creative mind has left.  Plus, a major project for another class has been weighing heavily…

So since because I don’t have much to say this week I will leave you with You Tube videos about procrastination:

Deep Thoughts about Persuasive Writing by Christine Von de Veld

I have to admit, I was not thrilled about making a blog and coming up with things on stuff to say.  HA-get it things on stuff...I know I'm cheesy and laugh at myself a lot.  If you can't laugh at yourself, well, you take yourself WAY too seriously.
Okay, back on topic...
After, taking almost a week to make a blog and think about what I was going to talk about, I realized that this is a great exercise to practice.  I know one day I will be the voice behind a brand, company, person, social media, organization, etc...and this will come in handy.
So, about this Persuasive Writing class, I enjoy it.  I did an internship this last summer and realized that my writing needs to improve.  The only way to become a better writer is to write.  I like that the class is easy going, but not easy.  I feel comfortable asking Amanda questions and getting responses quickly.  I like that the class is conversational based and not formal-boo on formal classes.   I also really enjoy the guest speakers; it is nice to see what I could be doing some day.  Also, I know most of my classmates through OSU or TCC, which is always nice when you need some help with homework.
